Follow-up

During a follow-up meeting previous dietary goals are reviewed and refined as needed. Further dietary goals are established to reduce any food sensitivities, and work towards your best tolerated and energizing diet.

Family Consultations

For couples or families with individual dietary needs and separate meal schedules and eating habits. During an initial appointment your dietitian, Shannon or Nicole, will review both client's usual diets based on a 3-day food histories, assessing it for nutrient needs and food sensitivity triggers if necessary. 
Individualized specific goals are set to achieve your best tolerated, energizing eating pattern.  

Nicole believes that food and eating are at once a universal cultural experience and a completely individual practice. She is passionate about helping people enjoy eating while receiving the utmost nutritional benefit from their choices. She is also an advocate for a sustainable food system, with a focus on plant-based diets and local production.

Nicole Fetterly is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of BC with experience in university, government, retail, media, foodservice and hospital settings. She received a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Health from UBC, including an internship with Vancouver Coastal Health. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology at the University of Victoria and a Master of Science in Kinesiology, studying nudge theory in an effort to improve the vegetable intake of older adolescents.

Nicole loves helping her 2 children develop an enthusiasm for cooking and good food. They help in the garden and kitchen and consider kale chips, baked tofu, pancakes and beans & rice their signature dishes! Nicole knows the struggles of getting nourishing food on the table fast and provides practical strategies and recipes to help you achieve optimum health for you and your family.

Shannon Smith is a Registered Dietitian who is a big proponent of supporting people’s nutrition needs with a real food approach that’s rooted in science. Shannon graduated with honours from UBC’s Food Nutrition and Health program, and completed her dietetic internship with Vancouver Coastal Health.

Her extensive experience working as a dietitian in the retail setting has armed her with an arsenal of meal preparation shortcuts to help people meet their health goals in the simplest way possible. Her approach to nutrition counselling starts with meeting people where they’re at and implementing simple yet impactful changes that can realistically become everyday habits.

Shannon is a self-described food nerd, and is currently engrossed by food and lifestyle solutions to digestive health issues. She is well versed in the Low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is the only time you will catch her using the word “diet”.

Shannon enjoys using her knowledge of nutrition to demystify the fact and fiction surrounding food. She believes nutrition is a powerful tool to support disease prevention and lifelong health. ‘Healthy’ food doesn’t need to be complicated – it can be simple and delicious and starts with fresh, unprocessed ingredients.
